Submission Guidelines

Daily Geisha is a place for community–where people come together to share what they’ve learned and how they apply that knowledge to their daily lives.  With a rapidly increasing amount of friends, Daily Geisha reaches a large audience of motivated, passionate people.

If you read the Daily Quotes on Twitter or Facebook, and strive to live with purpose, passion, joy, and mindfulness, we would love to hear from you!!

Anyone, of any age, from any location can submit an original post (not previously published anywhere online) with a bio for inclusion on the blog. This is not an elite space, reserved for experts, thought leaders, or professional bloggers. This is a blog for real people who are willing to share themselves vulnerably and authentically

"Simply, give others a bit of yourself; a thoughtful act, a helpful idea, a word of appreciation, a lift over a rough spot, a sense of understanding, a timely suggestion.  You take something out of your mind, garnished in kidness out of your heart, and put it into the other fellow's mind and heart."  ~Charles H. Burr

Why Contribute to Daily Geisha?

1. Your post will receive broad exposure, promoted to Twitter followers and  Facebook friends. Daily Geisha only publishes one guest post per day, bloggers receive the community’s full attention when they share their wisdom.

2. The Daily Geisha community is highly responsive through comments on the site and the social networking pages, creating a rewarding experience all around. (Comments are disabled during the re-vamping of the site.)

3. Every post will include a bio with links back to your site. As we grow, featuring your writing on Daily Geisha will increase traffic and subscribers to your blog.

4. I often work with writers to strengthen their posts through editing, sometimes minor and, with permission, more extensive. I am happy to provide detailed notes explaining my editorial instincts, which will help you improve the content on your own blog.

5. As a Daily Geisha contributor, you can update your bio at any time to promote products you may be launching.

6. Most of all, you will be enriching the lives of our readers with your life's stories and advice that you share. Many people love to stay inspired on a regular basis because it's healthy and motivating to do so, but sometimes people search for reasons to be inspired when life gets a little too heavy for them. Your story may be the one that lifts someone out of a depressed state or to help someone realize their potential when they've lost hope. In any case, you will be an inspiration!

"If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vein." ~ Emily Dickenson
Writing Guidelines:

  • Include one quote at the top of your post.
  • Share a specific story connected to that idea. It’s
far more powerful to show us your struggles and then offer tips to
overcome them than it is to write about it theoretically, with a sense
    of authority or removal.
  • Offer practical information that will help readers address similar challenges. It doesn’t need to be a list of tips, but it needs to come back to the readers somehow.
  • Provide original, personal, and honest work.
Original means your post has never before been published anywhere,
including your own blog. Please note that I do not publish excerpts from
books. If you have a book coming out, feel free to contact me at
Danielle(AT)DailyGeisha(DOT)com about a potential review and giveaway.
  • Differentiate your post from others already on the site. Many
posts cover similar ideas, and that’s perfectly OK! If you share your
own story and unique reflections, this will be sufficient to diversify
  • Reserve self promotion to your bio (as opposed to marketing a course, workshop, or service directly in the post).
"Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe, shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish." ~John Jakes

    How to Submit:

    • Send your post in Microsoft Word, keeping paragraphs to 3 sentences or less.

    • Include bolded parts for emphasis and bullet points or numbers, where it makes sense.

    • Use 11 size font, black, with single spacing.

    • Keep your post between 800-1,300 words. While updating or re-creating I will occasionally publish shorter posts, but it is ideal that we provide as much information to our readers as possible.

    •  *Do not be discouraged.  Sometimes the most meaningful writing cannot always be set to an exact number of words, so this is a preferred request, but please send anything that you feel would be inspiring and helpful to your readers.

    • Email your post to DailyGeisha(AT) Yahoo(DOT)com. Please only send one post per email.

    • Write “Submission for Blog” in the subject line.

Please note that your post may be edited, including your title, and it may be included in free compilation eBooks, with your links in tact. (Even MORE exposure for you!) It may be a week or more before you receive a response, but please know I respond to everyone who submits. Thank you for your interest in adding your positivity and help to the Daily Geisha community where we can all grow together and make the web a little happier and more inspired than ever!

**Due to an influx of submissions, it may take up to 2 weeks to send a response.  If you have a question about a post you’d like to contribute then,
feel free to get in touch!**
