Being a Good Person...

"To be kind to all, to like many and love few, to be needed and wanted by those we love, is certainly the nearest we can come to happiness." ~Mary Stuart

In the world that we live in, this day and age, being a good person is a very hard thing to do sometimes. Basic morals that were so important to our ancestors in the past don’t seem to matter much to everyone anymore.

Moral values such as dignity, loyalty, determination, kindness, and compassion are values that aren’t found in everybody anymore. As a matter of fact in some parts of the world trying to find people who value these qualities is sort of like looking for a needle in a haystack.

A simple way to ensure that you are being a good person, and more than likely being the best person that you can be is to simply treat others the way in which you want to be treated. Do things for others that you would expect or want someone to do for you, and don’t do things to others that you in turn would not appreciate if they were done to you.  This simple fact is nothing new.  It's not rocket science but it is often easily forgotten.  Take the initiative to do the right thing first and just do the best you can...

"Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work."  ~William Arthur Ward

"Be silly. Be honest. Be kind."  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
