A Heart of Compassion...

"How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these."

~ George Washington

Always treat people fairly, with respect and with dignity. Your behavior sets the expectation others will have of you, so always follow through on any good intentions. Be sensitive to others and look for ways to help ease their pain, frustrations and overcome hurtful issues.

Everyone of us has been down before and nothing feels better than a comforting presence in our time of need.  Take the time to show others that you genuinely understand and respect their needs and concerns by listening well and making a sincere effort to see issues from their point of view.  Emphasize the good, the positive, and the upbeat.  Maybe share happy thoughts and positive stories. Whatever you do, do it sincerely and with an open heart.  When you show concern and understanding... when you show patience and give somebody time out of your busy day... you are extending the heart of a very compassionate person.  That in and of itself is a very wonderful feeling... not just for them, for you as well.
